  1. Jessica,
I love that you chose to highlight the use of popular culture media as a tool to extend outside the classroom; that it is more than just something to grab their attention.

There are a lot of reasons why I like using these note card confessions as an assessment but what I especially like is that it gives the student control over what they're learning. It becomes their interpretation and reconstruction of the information. However, because of that it could prove difficult to provide a definitive degree when it comes to learning objectives. Is the student taking away what the teacher wants them to take away?

  2. I enjoyed your fun decorative note cards and your colorful sharpie marker writing. As an artist I pick up more on the visual obviously ;) Your music was fun and cohesive as well. Nice job.

I think your note card video serves well as an assessment tool because you chose to highlight the benefits of media literacy and how it serves to connect the disciplines. I think your quotes were chosen well and can serve as a good reminder of what we are trying to achieve.

  3. Jessica,

I enjoyed your music choice. I also found your choice of quotes quite compelling-especially "Media literacy has long been understood as a mechanism to reduce the gap between...the classroom and the living room" -This is so powerful ad explains how we, as teachers, have the ability to close the gap through critical media literacy education.

    Well done! :)

  5. I liked the music that you chose to go with your confession. I love how you wrote down the quote that said the connections of media-literacy and fine and performing arts is rich. I love that you incorporated this to tell us that there are ways to connect many things. I think this is good for assessment because it allows the students to connect thoughts and literacy.

  6. Your first quote stood out to me. As I interpret it, that idea represents the ability for us to teach individuals to learn both in and outside of the classroom by giving individuals the tools needed to wade through media today. Excellent video!
